Teacher Attachment Programme (TAP) 2010

Teacher Attachment Programme (TAP)

Cluster Department  secured a total of 10 places for TAP at the following FPSS :

  • Tanglin Trust Infant School(TTIS) - 5 places
  • Overseas Family School(OFS) Kindergarten - 5 places

Duration of Attachment

With the concurrence of the hosting kindergarten, the Attachment Programme for the pioneering group was for one week's duration from  22 Nov to 26 Nov 2010. During the attachment, participants   recorded their experiences  in their  reflection journals, which were shared at the Debrief/Reflection Session on 26 Nov.

Feedback from the  ten participants was  very positive. Commented Michelle Koh, one of the participants, 'I appreciate the chance for me to learn from other participants and the school that I was attached to. I gained a lot and will definitely try to adapt some good practices for my centre'. The participants  have shared their learning with their colleagues at their respective centres / Branch and also at Cluster level. A number  of the participants have adapted some ideas learnt eg having a common Assembly at the beginning of each day where the teachers take turns to  share current issues with the children; reinforcing positive behavior by being more forthcoming in praising children for their positive / commendable actions  when they are observed; modifying the 'Show And Tell' sessions etc.

The participants have followed up with Reflection Sessions in 2011 on 'The Skillful Teacher', under the guidance of Cluster Principals and the Quality Assurance coaches.
