AGED CARE SERVICE

This is a Social Day Centre for the Elderly which caters to senior adults who may be frail, ambulant or semi-ambulant and capable of activities for daily living (ADL).
 
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

To meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of the elderly through the daily structured maintenance and socio-recreational programmes at the centre.

Activities are organised to promote socialization and the mutual exchange of help, care and concern among the elderly. The elderly are encouraged to learn new skills and take up new hobbies.

One of the unique features of the Centre is that it provides opportunities for the senior adults to interact with the young children in the Family Centre through hands-on activities, festival celebrations, story-telling sessions, excursions, etc.

 

DAILY PROGRAMME

DAILY PROGRAMMES are structured to fulfill two programme objectives :


(1) Maintenance Exercise Programmes and (2) Socio-Recreational Programmes.

There are different level to each activity, clients are assigned to the activity according to his / her profile, cognitive level, language and interest.


1) Maintenance Exercise Programmes

a. Morning & Evening Group Exercise
b. Circuit Gym Exercises

2) Socio-Recreational Programmes

c. Eye-Hand Coordination Therapy - Writing / Colouring / Geometry game
/ Painting Lesson / Calligraphy session
d. Interactive Group Games 
e. Reality Orientation - Morning Greetings & News update
f. Small Group Activities : Sensory Stimulating Activities e.g.
Hands-on Cookery session, Beverage Appreciation, Food Identification, 
Share-a-recipe; Cantonese Story-telling
g. Cognitive Stimulating Activities : Craft Time / Music Appreciation /
Keyboard Lesson / Computer Workout
h. Bingo Game

 

 

MEALS

4 Meals -  Breakfast, Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea are served daily at the Centre.

Muslim participants are served halal food.
