Key Responsibilities:

You will develop effective strategies and plans as well as provide strong leadership to achieve the following:

  • Develop, review and fine-tune PCF’s curriculum and programmes to ensure alignment to MOE/ECDA preschool education frameworks and market needs. Consequently lead PCF towards successful licensing of all PCF preschools and compliance with ECDA’s Curriculum and Professional Development KPIs under the Anchor Operator Scheme.
  • Conducive learning environment design within PCF centres to facilitate effective implementation of curriculum and programmes, supported by appropriate teaching resources and materials.
  • Appropriate developmental programmes and on-the-job training to raise the pedagogical skills of our teachers and their ability to facilitate children’s optimal learning. In addition, raise the confidence and competence of Centre Principals in providing curriculum leadership.
  • Establish learning communities/circles within the PCF teacher fraternity to promote exchange of ideas/best practices and further enhance overall quality of teaching and learning.
  • Effective implementation of PCF’s curriculum and programmes across all centres to enable consistent, high quality children’s learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Accreditation of PCF centres under the Singapore Preschool Accreditation Framework and long term sustainability of quality standards.
  • Introduce initiatives/programmes which involve parents as strategic partners in education.
  • Strengthen PCF’s position as an Anchor Operator and leader in the early childhood education field through curriculum innovations, staff and children’s achievement in national awards/competitions/ECE conferences and participation in research activities.
  • Align PED goals and achievements to the organisation’s overall objectives and within established budget.
  • Any other tasks/projects as assigned by the Reporting Officer.

Requirements:                                       

  • Minimum Masters Qualification in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership/senior management role in Early Childhood Education settings
  • Experience as a practitioner eg. in teaching, centre management, teacher training would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of early childhood education system including licensing, training and accreditation frameworks
  • Must have knowledge of current techniques and procedures used in the design and development of early childhood curriculum
  • Must have breadth and depth of experience in teacher training/professional development
  • Proven track record of good performance in leading and managing large teams

  • Minimum 8 years of working experience performing the same job in a hospital or eldercare setting
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Work with form teachers, preschool educators, and DSP professional staff to identify children with needs by conducting DSP screening for PCF preschoolers referred for learning/developmental difficulties and present screening outcomes and recommendations to the DSP multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide formal LSEd support packages and in-class support to preschoolers ‘at risk’ or with mild developmental needs.
  • Work with KKH-DCD (DSP Consultancy Team) and other DSP partners to support the DSP child and his/ her family/ caregivers.
  • Provide direct modeling/training or be part of the DSP team training programs to parents, teachers to equip them with strategies to help the child.

Requirements:                                       

  • Recognized Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Preferred with Advance Dip in Early Childhood or Degree in Early Childhood
  • 3-5 years early childhood teaching experience. Additional experience in EIPIC or Special Education setting an advantage

Food and Nutrition

  • Develop menu in accordance to HPB guidelines for children below 7 years old
  • Work with selected vendor/vendors to develop recipe; train food handlers on preparation of the prescribed menu
