United in Celebration, Connected by Heart: PCF Family Day 2025 Brings Generations Together for SG60
Themed “Bridging Generations, Inspiring Our Future”, PAP Community Foundation (PCF) held a special edition of PCF Family Day at the Singapore EXPO, marking Singapore’s 60th year of independence. Graced by Guest-of-Honour Mr Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, the event united families and communities in a celebration of shared heritage—honouring the foundational pillars of Singapore while reflecting on its collective journey towards a more connected future.
PCF Family Day was a heartfelt testament to PCF’s unwavering commitment to uplift lives and strengthen communities. The event welcomed approximately 4,680 participants, bringing together educators, seniors, and children from across PCF’s service arms — Sparkletots Preschool, Sparkle Care, and Sparkle Charity — a powerful intergenerational experience underscoring the organisation’s commitment towards unity, inclusiveness, and lifelong learning.
A defining feature of the event was the premiere of “Bridging Generations, Inspiring Our Future”, a short film capturing personal stories from confident young children, dedicated educators, supportive parents and active seniors from the PCF family. These narratives showcase PCF’s role in bridging generations, through accessible inclusive education at PCF Sparkletots Preschool (PCFSP) and purposeful senior care at PCF Sparkle Care. With decades of support for communities, PCF remains committed to shaping compassionate communities.
Mr Victor Bay, Chief Executive Officer of PCF, shared “As we commemorate SG60, our community celebrates the strength of families across generations. Community is at the heart of all we do at PCF—from nurturing young learners through strong family partnerships to supporting seniors with holistic care. We empower both young and old through a holistic approach. At PCF Sparkletots, offerings like our STEMIE programme nurture children’s all-rounded growth. At PCF Sparkle Care, seniors benefit from expanded daycare access and community engagement. These efforts are further strengthened by our charity arms, which provide additional support to those in need through initiatives like the Headstart Fund and Sparkle Gift of Love. We are proud to continue uplifting generations across Singapore through the different stages of their lives.”
Celebrating Together Through Culture, Creativity and Play
Another highlight was the symbolic PCF SG60 jigsaw puzzle challenge, where 2,025 participants came together to assemble 2,025 puzzle pieces, representing the current year and how PCF has played a significant role in building the nation to what it is today. The puzzle honours the invaluable contributions of individuals who support efforts from early childhood education to active aging. With this, PCF set a new Singapore Book of Records, surpassing the previous record of 1,716 individuals who formed a jigsaw puzzle at Ci Yuan Community Centre. This activity symbolised collective progress and the belief that every individual from PCF plays a vital role in shaping Singapore’s future. These 2,025 participants represent the Foundation’s ecosystem, including:
- Parents and children from PCFSP,
- Seniors and volunteers from PCF Sparkle Care,
- Key senior management and staff from PCF.
Running in tandem with Family Day, the PCF Parenting Conference 2025 welcomed over 1,200 participants. The conference aims to strengthen the relationship between home and school, offering parents guidance from early childhood professionals on how to support their children’s development and enhance primary school readiness. Organised with partners such as Families for Life and NTU Chinese Medicine, the conference featured 16 different workshops covering a diverse range of topics. This reflected PCFSP’s progressive approach to education, while spotlighting the integration of innovative teaching methods into its curriculum. The activities created opportunities where different generations could enjoy shared experiences while learning new skills.
Sparkle Care engaged seniors with interactive activities including popular e-games, health awareness sharing, and a multi-generational challenge to promote connection, active ageing, and lifelong learning. Alongside esteemed partners, participants can enjoy a diverse range of sporting activities organised by Sport Singapore (SportSG) and part of the 10th edition of GetActive! Singapore. Families can look forward to a range of activities for all ages and abilities. From training fundamental movement skills in the inflatable obstacle course for the young ones, to adaptive sports tryouts featuring boccia and seated floorball, as well as Active Health fitness challenges, – these activities promote active parent-child and multi-generational interaction.
Another highlight of the day’s programme is the popular GetActive! Singapore workout – Dance of the Nation. This fun and energising dance routine is choreographed for all, regardless of age or ability, to participate.
Supporting Six Key Sectors of Need
In a meaningful gesture, PCF donated S$60,000 to charitable organisations across key social sectors: seniors, children, low-income families, single mothers and those with need of support for mental health. The contribution illustrates PCF’s efforts to build a more inclusive and compassionate Singapore—strengthening the resources available to these groups, helping them continue their essential work in improving lives, enhancing dignity, and fostering hope:

- Bright Hill Evergreen Home (Seniors)
- The Salvation Army Gracehaven (Children/Youth)
- Food from the Heart (Children/Low-income families)
- HCSA-SPIN (Women/Single Mothers)
